Merry Christmas 2016

By December 19, 2016 No Comments

This December has been wonderful in that my own schedule has been more relaxed than in recent years.  Not only has it allowed me to enjoy the music and shows I’ve been involved in, but it has allowed me to soak up some of the other beautiful music and performances that are abundant at this time of year.

In no other season is collective music making as widespread and joy-filled as at Christmastime.  Whatever your personal beliefs may be, Christmas offers an opportunity to celebrate light at the darkest time of year, and celebration so often involves raising voices and making noise.  Whether you are performing, gathering in a home to jam and sing, flashmobbing, or sitting in a darkened hall listening to a musical performance, the connection to the people around you and the joy of the season is enhanced by music.

I am thankful for you, Guitar Mamas and Brothers of Strings, because together we carry this community connection through music into the rest of the year.  I am excited for what 2017 will bring to and through Whistling Duck Music, and I’m looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday, a Merry Christmas, and a joyous transition to the New Year.
